December 21st, 2012 is a day that many people are apprehensively waiting for. Scholars have analyzed prophecies belonging to Nostradamus and according to his odd depictions of the future, he has surprisingly been right on target with many of his predictions. September 11th, a day that so many of us remember as the greatest tragedy in our lifetime, was predicted by Nostradamus in his short poems and drawings. December 21st, 2012 has been labeled as the day the world will end, or change as the way we know it now, and has been predicted as such by Nostradamus, ancient Mayans calendar designers, and many other people who are interested in astrology. Supposedly, for those who are Catholic, this day should signify an enlightenment for those who worship God and Jesus. A man-made disaster and a natural disaster are said to occur on this day, changing the face of the Earth. Perhaps it is merely symbolism that we are entering as a civilization into rough times, filled with the effects of global warming and war, but what if all of this is true? Nostradamus' track record as of right now is as accurate as can be, which proves that he must have had some sort of a gift if he wrote down these prophecies in the 1400s.
Regardless of what this day brings, I do not know of many ways that I could physically prepare for some sort of catastrophe like what is supposed to happen, I could only pray that I am protected from whatever happens. While these predictions are good because they let you try and understand the present as well as the future and how they tie together, it is scary at the same time because the predictions are not positive ones at all. Positive maybe in a religious sense, but if bound to happen, they would cause chaos and fear in many. Hopefully researchers can try and break the ancient codes of Nostradamus and prepare us for what the world has in store for us.
Nostradamus wrote violent messages, not in the sense of belligerent against any one person or people, but violent in the way we treated one another and how we lived in this world. He is correct in many ways. We damage the Earth, we take life for granted by fighting battles in wars that have no premise, and we certainly have lost respect and love for one another in general. If anyone were to put two and two together, we could see the damage we are causing to the world and to ourselves, and we are only bound to suffer the consequences. Whether Nostradamus had these horrible visions or not, this is the path that we are choosing for ourselves and these predictions will definitely come true sooner rather than later. We have to be careful and cherish life in every aspect. Would you consider yourself prepared for December 21st, 2012? I hope so.

"Reefer Madness"
I want to smoke weed...legally. Some other countries have no problem with letting their citizens smoke all the weed they want. We can't even legalize most hemp products here in the United States because Bush is afraid of "Reefer Mania." Well most people don't realize that hemp products can be used as fuel, and that the cannibis plant has a really fast growth cycle of 8-10 weeks..which would be an amazing renewable resource. Plus, we could all be that much happier. People wouldn't be getting arrested for smoking weed or selling weed because it would be okay. It should have the same laws as alcohol in the United States and have a harsh penalty if abused during driving or operating machinary or something like that. I mean, medicinal weed is legal in most states, which is good because obviously people who are suffering need it, but why not let us all have some in the process? I know this argument makes me sound like a pot head, I'm not at all actually, but I mean it's been an argument for such a long time and there are so many benefits including the fuel benefit that you get from the plant itself. Forget burning fossil fuels, let's all burn weed and get stoned while we drive around. People would just be less stressed, bad lungs probably, but definitely less stressed out.
St. Nick
I remember the night I found out that Santa wasn't real and it was one of those nights where you absolutely hate your parents. They had been lying to you since day one, and the worst part is is that 1.) Santa isn't real anymore, and 2.) your parents knew all along that they were gonna make you upset one day. So all those cookies, all that milk, all those carrots for Vixen and Blitzen and whoever the 8 of them are, were eaten by good 'ole mom and dad. And most likely, I will one day do the same thing to my kids...maybe even dress up as Santa, who knows. It's like when you grow up you forget about how you felt that one night. If there really was Santa though, I bet he'd be a pretty awesome guy. Everyone always has their own ideas about what Santa would be like. For me, I think for those 364 days of the year when he's not working, he's got the life. Living in his own little town, with all these little workers that love him and never complain, Mrs. Claus always making good food, playing with some polar bears or something, to me that sounds like a lot of fun. Maybe not Mrs. Claus...maybe just Santa's little helper, like Jennifer Aniston or something like that, Jessica Biel, or maybe that girl from A Girl Next Door. Santa's job would be heavily sought after if he had women like that hanging around all day. Maybe if he was real...what a downer that was.
Walnuts roasting in an oven...
Like I've said, Christmas time is the best time of year when it comes to all the goodies that are out there. Seasonal treats is just something that I always look forward to. Last year, someone gave me these roasted walnuts that were awesome. It reminded me of that song chestnuts roasted on an open fire...but these are roasted in a 200 degree oven. For all of you who might be hungry, or maybe like walnuts I don't know, here's how she made them: First you take an egg and seperate the white part from it and beat it. You pour that over a pound of walnuts...I guess you can buy them all bagged up in the store like that. Then you get a tablespoon of water, half a cup of sugar, half a tablespoon of cinnamon, half a teaspoon of nutmeg, and a quarter of a teaspoon of cloves. You mix it all together in a bowl with your hands so that the nuts are coated with the spices and then you put them on one of those flat pans for the oven that are meant for baking. You have to grease the pan first, and then leave it in the oven for an hour at 200 degrees. They smell like those holiday spice candles you buy at the store and they taste amazing. When she first gave them to me to try I ate the whole batch and got a stomachache, but now I just eat them as a snack. You should give them a try.
the flood gates have opened...
This time last year, I had a lot of points as a rookie defensemen going into Christmas break. The only reason why I really worry about my own stats so much is because I get rewarded by my parents if I'm playing well, which is always nice no one can argue that. I was starting to get a little disappointed in myself when I realized that we were about 8 or 9 games in and I wasn't really close to where I was last year at this time. I had high hopes for the upcoming weekend however, and I started off the weekend by scoring with a slapshot from the point on a power play. I kept getting scoring chances and I kept either getting unlucky or having the goalie steal it from me. Finally I fired the puck past the goalie, maybe even through the goalie's five hole, and that was how the flood gates opened. The next game, we weren't expected to win. Well, as it turns out, we won and I scored another goal and assisted 3 other goals. My parents needless to say were very pleased with my performance. In the last game we played, I recorded another assist and I think that because I've been so consistent and the team has been doing well, my parents will make Christmas extra special for me. I don't actually know what I want, but they usually make it really nice anyway. Can't wait.
Jetman
So, I was doing my usually facebook stalking and I came upon the best thing facebook has to offer....JETMAN. If you don't know about jetman, you need to hit up the search bar on facebook immediately. This is definitely one of the most addicting games I've ever played and it's so simple and dumb. Every day I find myself procrastinating more than usual just because I cannot tear myself away from jetman. Jetman is this little dude..(or any character you pick to fly) and attached to his back is a jetpack. All you have to do is fly him safely around these random obstacles by using the spacebar as the button for how he ignites his jetpack. Honestly, it sounds ridiculously simple and I sound simple-minded talking about it with such enthusiasm, but I am officially addicted. I got my roommates attached to it and we sit in our living room and play this stupid game for hours on end. You can challenge your friends and most of the time I win, probably because I've been practicing, but you can just rematch people. The challenges don't really mean much..actually the whole thing is pretty pointless but it is so frustrating when that little man crashes into those little bricks that are randomly flying at you. I'm going to go play right now....
Cramming
One of my least favorite parts of the year is during finals week. It is really unfortunate because it's the holiday season and I like staying up and watching Christmas movies and taking advantage of all the delicious foods that come out. It is difficult to enjoy all of the goodies that come along with this season while trying to cram. Now, a lot of people say that cramming is only the fault of the student but I do not really think that I could be prepared for a test without cramming. I remember the most when I cram...when I study a little bit each night I am usually distracted and it does not stick with me. I also do not have the time to do anything else but cram. Let's be honest, with hockey sucking up my entire life, it can be really hard to have the motivation to study late at night after practice when I'm sore and tired and need a really nice massage. This year, I plan on going to as many review sessions as I can and I'm going to try and prepare myself as best as I can no matter how tired I get. I really need to do well this semester and every extra point will help. It will just be nice knowing that as soon as I put all of this time and energy forth into my studies, I can go home and relax for a solid three weeks with my family, my dog, and all the food I can eat. Act like that doesn't sound AMAZING right now...

WHAT VACATION?!
Thanksgiving break is going to be very short this year for our team. Usually, I get to go home and enjoy the time with my family, and I was really looking forward to seeing my little dog Charlie, but our team has games and we have to be back here the day after Thanksgiving. It really sucks, this is probably my favorite time of year with all the seasonal food that's out and everything...pumpkin pie, apple cider, butternut squash, TURKEY! Most people would probably just be like "Oh suck it up you'll be home two weeks later for Christmas" Wellllll...the winter sports teams have to be back here on or around New Year's. This means no New Year's celebrations, no month home, we're lucky if we get two full weeks. I hope that the sacrifice is worth it and we win some big games during winter session. We have all home games for the most part, which is good because who wants to travel in the cold weather, but it also kind of sucks because no one will be here to be our fans except the other teams. That's not nearly the size of the crowd we normally get. Hopefully it will pay off, and I'll just make sure to stuff my face that much more to make up for the lost time. Too bad I couldn't bring Charlie back to school with me, although he'd probably be lonely with me being gone at practice. Hope everyone has a nice break...a nice LONGGGG break. I'm not bitter at all.
The National Champs
We our coming off our first league win against Geneseo. We won in overtime 3-2. Now this week we have been preparing for a huge game on friday night against Oswego. Last year they were first in our league and won the National Championship for all Division 3 hockey schools. Tickets have been sold-out since Monday. This past week we as a team have been working extra hard in practice to make sure we are well prepared to play on friday night. I love playing in their arena because it is brand new and they always have a lot of fans watching. Oswego is a fast and strong team, they are made up of mostly Canadians that are big and tough. It should be another good test for us. If we can beat them we will put our team on the map and everyone will be afriad to play us. We are leaving friday afternoon at 3 p.m. we will probably arrive in Oswego around 5p.m. at that point we will go and put our equipment into the lockerroom and start our pregame workout. We always stretch and warm-up as a team for a bout 30 minutes. Our warm-up is kind of funny we do this thing where we have pretend like we are boxing and we have punch and move around to get our legs loose. We also have to cheer and chant as loud as we can so the other team heres us, it's to get inside the other teams head. Hopefully we win this weekend and improve our record and make a name for ourselves. Wish us luck!

Another Weekend.......
This weekend coming up should be a lot of fun. Well first we have two away games this weekend. Friday night against Brockport, we should win this game but I don't know now that we have our backup goalie in net. Then we come home friday night, we do not stay over. Saturday morning we get up early to get a team skate in and get our legs ready for the game. Then we get our stuff ready to go to Geneseo. Geneseo is a bout 2 hours away and they are a good team so it should be a great test for us. Whenever we play them they have a packed house with a band and everything. It really pumps me up for the game. Then after the game we head home to catch the end of the cortaca weekend of partying. The hockey house is having the grand opening of there bar that they have been building since the beginning of the year. It fill's up the whole basement, it has a beer pong table already built in,a dart board put in the wall, a bathroom, and frig. I can not wait to go party there from now on. Also next year I'm moving into the hockey house and im going to have the bar at my own disposal. We should arrive back in Cortland around midnight we I will head home to shower and change again, then head over to the hockey house for the grand opening of the bar.
Ben Binga
After our first games at home this weekend didn't go as well as we expected. We lost both games. Potsdam won 5-2 and Plattsburgh won 4-2. Our goalie Ben Binga stoped 50 of 54 shots against Plattsburgh, but took some really stupid penalty's that cost us the game. We were winning 1-0 going into the third period and Binga got frustrated for some reason and took two bad penalty's that cost us 2 goals and as our coach says, " it is very hard to kill off goalie penalty's." So on Monday we watched video of the game and the coach was going saying how well we played and everything and then we got to the third period when Binga had taking his bad penalty's and coached pointed it out and told Binga infront of everyone that you just can't do that and it basically cost us the game. When our coach said that you could tell that Ben Binga was upset and angry that the coach said that. So yesterday when I went into the locker Binga equipment was not in his stall. Then I found out that from our coach that Ben Binga quit. No one really liked Binga cause he would cost us just a bout every game with his bad penalty's even if he would make 100 saves he would still cost us the game. I'm glad he's gone and hopefully our back up goalie will do well and make us win.

Home Games this WEEKEND!!
Our first home game is tommorow night at 7 p.m. We are playing Potsdam which is not a strong team, but it still should be a good game. We are hoping to get over a couple of hundred fans. As of right now we have a bout 150 people confirmed on coming to watch us play tommorow night. There is this thing on facebook that our team made to send out flyers to people to invite them to our games. We have a special guy that is going to be doing our music, so everyone gets to pick their own song to play when you score a goal. Mine is Dairy of Jane by Breaking Benjamin. On saturday night we have our second home game against Plattsburgh and they are a really good team. I can not wait to play infront of my friends and family this weekend. The games should be fun to watch and hopefully we win both games. I'm going to make sure I eat a good pregame meal and the a good meal after the friday night game. If we win both games partying on saturday night would be a lot more fun then if we lost. We are going to celebrate Halloween that night because we could not go out during the week because of 48 hour rule. I think I'm going to be the sasqatch from those commericals. If your reading this maybe you should come to PER at 7p.m. friday and saturday night to cheer us on.
Dec 21, 2012
December 21, 2012 is when the world is going to end. Well according to Nostradamos theory that is what is going to happen. It was during this past week that I put on the history channel and the historians were talking a bout this theory. It was really interesting listening to what they were talking a bout and how some of Nostradamos past predictions came true. I really think the world is going to end within the next 5 years. I had a huge discussion with my friend a bout this and she is very religious. I kept on asking questions a bout everything you could think of. Like who put us here and why? Is there an after life or do you rot in the ground? What came first the chicken or the egg? She told me something very interesting that her mother told her. Her mom is basically like a nun but not, she is just very religious. She said that we are suppose to have an evil pope and he is suppose to ruin everything. She also told my friend that the past 20 years Catholics have been building underground hide outs for all the Catholics because the evil pope is suppose to kill off all the Christians. I don't know if I believe all of this but if the world ends in 2012 I'm going to very prepared for the end. No matter what the outcome is I will be ready.

Mall trip
This past weekend at our away trip, we had a good 3 hours to kill in between games. So, we decided to go to the mall as a team. It was a ridiculous way to kill time. Since we have a no cell phone/no parents allowed rule during road trips, unless you had money, the mall was pretty pointless. What does coach think, we're a bunch of girls? It would have been a lot nicer if we could have just stayed in the hotel room and played cards or whatever. Not being able to buy anything, not being able to even talk to anyone on the phone is the dumbest rule ever. Coach thinks we won't be focused if we hang out with our parents like 5 hours before the game. Why? I don't know. All I know is that when we were losing going into the third period, Coach came into the lockerroom and threw this box of screws on the ground so hard that the box opened and all the screws went everywhere. He was screaming at us for not focusing while we were at the mall, that he saw us on our cell phones and some people were walking around with their parents. Honestly, how can you expect the mall to be the place where we're gonna get our game faces on? I didn't use my phone or anything that day, but it didn't matter because we all had to skate for a half hour at the end of Monday's practice. It was brutal and it made me hate these dumb rules even more than I already do.
Every night after dinner, I really enjoy parking it on the couch and tuning into my favorite t.v. shows. Everyone Loves Raymond is a definite must. That show is hilarious and every time I watch it I pray to GOD that I don't get stuck with in-laws like Ray's parents. Honestly, would you really want your in-laws living directly across the street from you and your family? Absolutely not. I want to be able to come and go as I please without having to answer to anyone. Well, after Ray is over, Friends usually comes on next. Jennifer Aniston is so hot, I basically just watch the show because of her. Any movie that she's in too...she's definitely one of my favorites. Seinfeld is usually up next. This show is probably my favorite out of the three. It has absolutely no plot whatsoever, and yet the story line is ridiculously funny at the same time. I would love to see Jerry Seinfeld's live comedy. I would say I'd like to see Kramer's live stand-up too but, after last-year's debaucle with the racist comments, I think it'd be a bad idea to go to something like that. Anyway, this is the best time of my day because I get to stuff my face, and relax on the couch, and watch my favorite shows. If you don't watch these shows, you should really start..they're funnnyyyyy.

The Tazmanian Devil
I live in my own house with three other roommates. One is which one of my housemates is one of my teammates. Another is his roommate from last year. Then there is the other named Tazmanian Devil aka Eddie. His life consists of smoking cigarettes and drinking beer every single night. His annoying friends come over every night and don't leave until 1 a.m. Eddie also never does the dishes or cleans up his mess him and his friends leave every night until the next week inwhich it just starts over again. He also is a huge METS and Giants fan, so I love rubbing it in when they lose, especially when the METS really blew it this year. The only reason he is living with us is because he is my teammate/housemate is a good friends with him from home, but he didn't realize he was this bad to live with. We put up with his actions and his annoying friends for a month and we had it. Even the landlord would come over and see what a mess our house was because of him and his friends. So we had a talk with him and the landlord did also basically telling him if he kept this up he would be kicked out of the house and then his mom would put him in rehab. Its been a month and it hasn't been that bad, he's coming along i guess. If your wondering why he is called the Tazmanian Devil, well corso and I came up with it one day and we thought it was pretty funny so we always say, "up the tazmanian devil is home" and have a nice laugh a bout it.
SUNYAC CHALLENGE
Tommorow moring my team and I are leaving for Buffalo State to play the SUNYAC Challenge. The good thing is that I get to miss 2 of my 3 classes tommorow because we are leaving at 9:30a.m. The dress code for the trip is our black cortland sweat pants, so I'm pretty happy that we get to be comfortable instead of wearing a shirt and tie with dress pants. We have to be on the bus by 9:45a.m. if not the bus is leaving without us. We'll probably watch 2 movies because the trip is going to take a bout 3 hours. I might watch one movie but then I'll probably take a nap and listen to my I-pod so I get focused for the game. Friday night we are playing Fredonia state, last year we beat them 4 times and the lost 0, but somehow they managed to win the SUNYAC and we didn't even make the playoffs. Saturday night we play Buffalo state at 7p.m. We split the games with them last year. The SUNYAC Challenge this year should be very competitive. Last year we won the whole thing and I made the All-Tournament Team. I think we have a better team than last year especially on defense and our new coach is helping a lot on and off the ice. This season should be very interesting to see how it turns out.

Halloween costume
Usually for Halloween, I can never really celebrate because it is prime time for the beginning of hockey season and we always have some important games. This year might not be much different, however I think I might dress up regardless. One of my favorite commercials is actually a series of commercials for the Jack Links beef jerky company. About 3 or 4 dudes in the commercial are in the wilderness, randomly eating beef jerky and they come across Sasquatch doing some every day Sasquatch chores. He'll be sleeping or hunting and the dudes come along and mess with him by throwing poop at him or offering him a car ride and pulling away. Anyhow, he gets so aggrivated with these guys picking on him that he winds up throwing them through the forest or breaking them into pieces or something. For Halloween this year, I figured I'd go as Sasquatch because he's basically awesome. The costume is very hard to find, and it's really expensive anyway. So this weekend, Liv and I are going to go to some craft store in Ithaca because she promised she'd try and make me a Sasquatch costume...or at least the face. I guess I just have to have her plaster my face and then use some clay to shape it so it looks ugly and probably glue tons of hair on it...whatever she has to do...it had better look awesome though because I want everyone to be like "WOWWW THAT'S SWEEETTTT....."
Do you like Huey Lewis and the News?
Some people have heroes, some have idols, and some worship God. I don't know much about that stuff, but all I know is that my favorite character out of any movie I've ever seen is Patrick Bateman from the movie American Psycho. If you haven't seen the movie, it's very gorey but it's a great plot and the ending leaves you speechless. You really have absolutely no idea what happens...I won't tell you what actually happens but it definitely left me hanging. The first time I saw the movie, I was with some of my buddies and I might have been the only one who hadn't seen it out of all of us. Patrick Bateman, played by Christian Bale or as most of you know him as the new Batman, is an amazing actor and plays the part of this psychotic, rich CEO that spends money as if it grew on trees and has a slight habit of comitting murder. He envisions killing people he works with and people he's close to but the whole time he has this front on that is professional and charming. It's kind of crazy to think that someone could do that, even if it is just a movie. He obsesses over business cards and exfoliating soaps and has a notebook of disgusting drawings of how he plans to murder people. He is an intense individual and he is very interested in a band called Huey Lewis and the News...ever hear of the song "It's Hip to be a Square?" I think it was playing in the background as he murdered one of his colleagues...sort of a motivational pump up for his homicide. He might be crazy but I think he's pretty cool.
New One piece Sticks....
It was a tuesday morning and it did not seem like it was going to be a good day. First I had no breakfest left in the house so i was hungry until my classes were over to get lunch downtown. After I ate my chicken salad on an italian roll with lettuce, tomato, onions and sweet pickles with a peach snapple to drink i headed down to the rink. When I walked into the lockerroom all I could see was 5 one piece sticks wrapped up in my stall. This put a huge smile on my face because I've been waiting for this day since the beginning of the year. I hurred up and taped them because I got there late from class. When I finally got dressed I headed toward the ice with one of my new one piece sticks. I took my first shot and it sniped the top right corner of the net and from that moment on I knew that it was going to be a great day at practice. After doing some shooting drills I became even more comfortable with the curve. There is no better feeling when you are using a stick and blade that makes everything easier for you to do on the ice because it makes you feel good. When practice was over I put 2 of my sticks in the stick rack and took the other 3 back to my house for storage and so no one stills them from the lockerroom. Now I can not wait to go to practice tommorow so I can use them again.
First Week of Practice....
Monday was the first day of tryouts for out hockey team. 30 guys tried out and in the end only 2 walk-ons were cut. Tryouts were very tough and exhausting. We have to skate and do drills from 3:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m everyday from monday threw saturday. We also have team lifts on monday, wednesday, and friday after practice. Then on saturday we have another team skate from 10a.m. to 12 noon. Since we have a new coach this year we are doing a lot of things different. For instance, before we start each practice we have to warm up on our own and at 3:30 he blows his whistle and we all have to go to him at center ice and shake his hand telling him we are ready to play. Then we do drills to warm up the goalies for a bout 20 mins or so. Then we get into team play and defensive zone coverage drills. At the end of every practice we have to do 15 minutes of conditioning. Which is completely brutal. When its over at 5:15 we get off the ice because the girls have to practice and then we hit the showers and get ready for our off-ice workouts. These workouts last for a bout 45mins to an hour. Consisting of leg and upper body workouts. Mainly workouts that help you become a better hockey player. At the end of the day around 8p.m. I am completely exhausted and have to finish my homework and then hit the sack because it is all going to start over tommorow.

Charlieeee
Charlie is the name of my mini schauzer dog. I love him soooo much. He came into my life last christmas and never seems to disappoint me. Whenever I would leave the house he would be waiting for me by the door when I came home. I love playing with him, whenever I'm on the floor he always comes over to me and starts licking my lips. He is a little bit of a barker though, but I don't care cause he is awesome. Charlie runs through my house so fast, he goes threw chairs and tables without even hitting a leg. I'm thinking of putting him in one of those dog competitions. Over the summer when I would come home from work he would be barking for me to pick him up. As soon as I put my work things away I would pick him up and hug and kiss him for at least 10 minutes. He truly is a man's best friend. I take him for walks every night. Again he barks at everyone that goes by. Charlie is my first dog, I am sooooo happy that he came in my life. I can't wait to go home for our first break so I can see his happy face and his tongue hanging out when I walk into the door.
My trip to Central City Bar & Grill
Soooo, Corso's pops and brother came up last Saturday and we needed a place to eat. I know of this cute little bartender that works at Central City so I decided to suggest that place. I had never eaten there before, but I had heard they served delicious food. We went in and sure enough we got a seat right in front of the bar. With a great view of the Yankee game & pretty girl, I sat down and relaxed and wondered what exactly I was going to order. Pork chops, steaks, sandwiches, pasta, I mean this place has everything. After throwing back a pitcher of bud light, I decided on a Cajun Chicken sandwhich with sweet potato fries. MMMMMMMMM..it absolutely hit the SPOT. Another pitcher or two later of bud light, I was stuffed and in the zone. The Yanks were winning, I had a good buzz going, bartender girl was giving me the eyes, and the best part was..I wasn't paying for a thing. It's always a treat when you get to go out to dinner with family friends. I think I'll take my family there when they come up to watch some games...I'm getting RIBS next time...I want it NOW! Okay bye.

Favorite
If there was a place I could be right now...I'd say it'd have to be the beach. Not just any beach, but a beach with white sand and clear water, a hammock, and a corona with my name on it. No school work, no hockey, no worries, no annoying people, just me and my favorites. You know, I felt bad for Tom Hanks on that deserted island when he started talking to the beach ball, but I mean, that wouldn't be too bad would it? It's paradise. Coconut is my favorite scent, the sand is good for your skin because it acts as an exfoliating scrub, and it would be stress free. I'd go fishing, lay out and get tan, climb some palm trees, and if I was feeling adventerous enough, maybe I'd go treasure hunting just to say that I did it. Anything would be better than Cortland at this very moment. I'm sick, the weather is icky, my body is sore, I'd love to go home right now, yada yada yada. The summer is the best time because of the beach. Being relaxed and being with my friends is comforting and always a fun time. I'm thinking about going on a cruise to the Bahamas for spring break. Maybe I'll run away when the ship pulls over, find myself a piece of sporting equipment that I can befriend, and enjoy the rest of my life listening to the waves and eating seafood. No worries.
Not feeling well : (
Like clockwork, I'm sick again. Just like last fall. I'm all kinds of drugged up right now on Sudafed and Theraflu and some nasal spray that made my nose burn. Food has lost it's taste, team workout today was brutal, and writing this blog is making my head hurt worse. I woke up this morning all sweaty, but that's at least a sign that my fever broke. These are the times you just want your mom to bring you soup in bed and lay around all day and do nothing in your pjs.
Right now I'm just watching the Yanks and eating some leftover pork chops that Liv made. She went out and picked out some great drugs for me at CVS before...let's hope they work all through the night. Getting a good night sleep is so hard when you're sick. I always toss and turn and get that nasal drip and wake up and then I can never get back to bed. It's not like it's just like this for one day either, it lasts for at least 4-5 days and just when I start to feel better, here's the weekend and I party and then I feel gross again. The Yanks winning right now at least is a good thing. I can't wait for the NHL games to start up. I'm in a Fantasy hockey league with a bunch of people and I have high hopes for my players to do well. The best part will be gloating when I win :). Well, time to relax...maybe I'll go enjoy a nice cup of chicken broth. AWESOME!

DMB Concert
This summer I got to go see Dave with a bunch of my friends. It was the highlight of the summer by far. I drove up with my friend Ryan and his girlfriend to Hartford, Conn. We didn't hit that much traffic if you were wondering. Anyway before we left we went to the deli to get sandwiches and beer to fill the cooler. I am sooo excited to see Dave because it was going to be my first time. When we get there, I couldn't even guess how many people were there and my friend Ryan said that there is going to be around 40,000 people here. We pull into the VIP parking area in the Mercedes Parking lot. Everyone is partying, listining to Dave blasting out of there car, BBQ's. It was an awesome wave of excitment. We tailgated and pregamed for a bout 3 hours then starting walking into the show. Dave was absolutely amazing. Some of the songs he played were Don't Drink the Water, Shotgun, Seek up, crush, and my favorite too step. The show lasted a bout 3 hours and when we were leaving I decided to buy a Dave shirt which is amazing by the way, so comfortable haha. I still had another sandwich left in the car so i was set for food on the way home. After I ate it i passed out, ryans girlfriend drove us home. I'm not going to lie but the ride felt like 10mins cause i just passed out and woke up when she was pulling into her drive way. Ahhh it was soooo awesome I will never forget it.
Last Friday Night
It all started on friday afternoon after my last class. My housemate and I went out for run and did a couple of sprints. Then on the way back we picked up a 30 rack of keystone and if your wondering we are both 21. So we bring the beer back to my house and order a pizza. As we are waiting for food we decide to play some darts and of course I won 8 of 10 games. Anyway the food arrives and we are so happy cause we were soooo hungry from running. We end up finishing the pie in a bout 15 mins or so. Its getting to be around 8:30 -9:00p.m and people are starting to show up at our house. We start playing beer pong to warmup our skills before the crowd comes and so we can stay on the table. We won 8 games straight and finally lost in double overtime. So then we decided to play a card drinking game called kings for about an hour. It was a bout 11:30 when we decided to go down to the bars. Our walk is pretty far to the bars, its a bout 10-15mins walking. We finally get there and we head into the red jug to meet up with our friends and teammates. We end up stayin til the bars close. Now even though my housemate and I ate a whole pie by ourselfs we are hungry again. So I told my friend we are not leaving the bar until you order DP dough and of course he did cause he wanted it also. So by the time we get back to our house the food arrives 15mins later and the rest is history.
Tuesday and Thursday Team Lifts
On mondays and wednesdays the hockey team does conditioning. On tuesday and thursday we do a 15min warmup outside doing sprints and quick feet drills then we are in the weight room. We use the wrestlers weight room so we can workout as a team. This workout consists of 4 stations doing 2 different excercises at each. First is the front squats, 10 reps of warmup weight, then after you do that you have to do 10 pullups. Rest for about 45 secs then do it again with more weight then do 10 pullups. Then your going to do your third set maxing out of the front squats into 10 pullups again. Each station should take no more then 9mins. The next station consists of leaning over back rows then ab bridges for 45 secs. Again your going to do this for 3 sets starting with a warmup into maxing out at the end. The third station is hang cleans into a press and leg raises for abs. Again we are doing 3 sets of both with increasing weight then finishing with max weight. The final station is bench press the twists with a 45 pound weight for abs. Same as all the others, 3 sets starting with a warmup then finishing with max rep. This whole workout shouldn't take more then 45 to an hour. I think it's a great routine and I'm glad we are doing it.
Monday Conditioning
Hockey season is starting up now and that means conditioning. This is used as a team building and to get inshape before the season starts next month. It is very strenuous on the body. Our team works out monday through thursday, friday we have off, but we have a 8am workout on saturday morning. Yes I know the saturday morning is pretty rough, but it helps because we won't go out as much and party. So on mondays we do dryland for a bout an hour and a half. This consists of a 15min warmup which is not easy, doing short sprints, lunges, squats,etc... Then we do the ladder workout which helps with quick feet. What we do is start in pushup position and go through a bout 20-25 ladder holes with our feet doing different exercises then into a 10 yard sprint. After that we do the box workout which helps for latteral movement and back peddling. Finally we finish with eight 100 yard sprints with doing 25 sets of pushups, crunches, and squats at the end of each sprint. Now you might think that this workout is hard and it is but it is also very necessary if we want to have a great season and finsh strong. I don't mind doing it because I like staying inshape.

I'm an idiot.......
It all began at 7:15 am in the morning. I had to wake up early because I switched into a class at 8am. Don't ask me why, but it was the only time this class was being held at. I live off campus so I usually walk to class. I arrived at 7:50am and there was only a few kids in the class so far. I always get to class early so i can have my pick of where to sit which is usually next to a window or in the back. So I'm guessing your still wondering when this day turns bad. Well the professor walks in and I realize its my Spanish teacher and he says welcome to Spanish 101 and I'm suppose to be in a Criminology class. So now I have the embarrassment of having to get up and walk out saying that I'm in the wrong class. Then I didn't know what room I was suppose to be in and by the time i checked the computer the class would of been almost over. So I got some breakfast, walked home, and went back to sleep for the next 2 hours before my next class. That's my story.... hope you like it haha.

Hockey Season
I wish it was hockey season already. There is no better feeling when your on the ice. You don't have to worry a bout school, girls, and life. It's just you and the ice and nothing else matters. I look forward to going to practice because I'm always trying to get better at the game. Before games I have to mentally prepare myself. This means focus, I listen to my I-pod so I get pumped up for the game and think a bout what I'm going to do in certain situations. I also do sprints and the ladder workout to get my foot speed ready for the game. I also love to watch the NHL season. My house mates and I are going to get The Hockey Package so we can watch any game that is playing. My favorite NHL teams are The New York Rangers and The Calgary Flames. I feel that The Rangers will have a dominate team and win the Stanley Cup this year. Hockey is my life and I enjoy every second playing and watching it.
