Walnuts roasting in an oven...

Like I've said, Christmas time is the best time of year when it comes to all the goodies that are out there. Seasonal treats is just something that I always look forward to. Last year, someone gave me these roasted walnuts that were awesome. It reminded me of that song chestnuts roasted on an open fire...but these are roasted in a 200 degree oven. For all of you who might be hungry, or maybe like walnuts I don't know, here's how she made them: First you take an egg and seperate the white part from it and beat it. You pour that over a pound of walnuts...I guess you can buy them all bagged up in the store like that. Then you get a tablespoon of water, half a cup of sugar, half a tablespoon of cinnamon, half a teaspoon of nutmeg, and a quarter of a teaspoon of cloves. You mix it all together in a bowl with your hands so that the nuts are coated with the spices and then you put them on one of those flat pans for the oven that are meant for baking. You have to grease the pan first, and then leave it in the oven for an hour at 200 degrees. They smell like those holiday spice candles you buy at the store and they taste amazing. When she first gave them to me to try I ate the whole batch and got a stomachache, but now I just eat them as a snack. You should give them a try.
